PARTY REELS 360
A new way to book parties and events on a website
Overview
A website for planning and scheduling party events with a user-friendly experience. Create personalized event packages or pre-made packages, as well as learn more about the business and how the events process works
I conducted this case study during my intensive Thinkful UX boot camp, focusing on event-booking websites. As a person who likes to plan ahead, I consistently encountered challenges with booking events and parties, especially with finding companies that catered to the needs of my friends and family.

Problem Statement
Users need a website that can enable them to learn more about the business while seamlessly aligning with their busy schedules. At the same time, they’re looking for a platform where they can pre-book either custom or pre-made event packages.
The business currently only has Instagram as the only way for their customers to learn about the business and to contact them. This also means that the only way for customers to book events is to direct message them on Instagram. Their current method is not ideal for the business because it makes it inconvenient for their customers. But also, this method is time-consuming for business owners because they have to answer a lot of the same questions that could be answered on a website.

Day 1: Understanding the Problem
In the middle of their busy schedules, users confront the struggle of being able to pre-book events. Additionally, the absence of important event information can ultimately leave the user confused and unable to reserve an event on time. Important event information includes how the event process works and which equipment should be rented for their event needs.

Scenario
Planning a family party.
Goals
Wants to book a 360 photo booth for the party next week.
Crazy 8’s Sketches
I used the “Crazy 8’s” technique to rapidly brainstorm design concepts, followed by sketching multiple versions of a home page screen. After careful consideration, I selected the most suitable design.
Day 3 & 4: Deciding & Prototyping
Party Reels 360 style guide was on the neutral side because I wanted the photos and videos to pop off the page as well as be easy to navigate.
Day 5: Testing
1
Users wanted a dedicated page for all the props that are offered.
2
Users wanted to see a step-by-step diagram showing events from start to finish.
